This app teaches you to 'receive' Morse code.

It starts with two letters and automatically adds more when it understands that you are ready.

This is the easiest and most efficient way to learn Morse code as the app focuses on the practice you need next, instead of wasting your time with stuff you already know or confusing you with stuff that you still don't.

The original idea comes from Ward K9OX (http://c2.com/morse/).

By default the app uses the 'Koch' method letter sequence and starts with the first two letters: K and M. But you can use any of the methods available and find the one that suits more your likings. There's also a training program for the top 40 words used during a CW QSO.

Around each letter you have a circle chart showing how high is your error score. It starts from 100% (full circle) and lowers as you start guessing letters right and increases when you are wrong or you take too much time to recognise them.

To start the training, simply press the PLAY button on the top right of the display.

At this point the app will start playing tones. Press the one that you think corresponds to the tone. If you are wrong, the app will let you know by playing an 'error' sound. If you are right, the app will continue by picking up another letter or word. Once you'll become good enough with the active letters, the app will enable a new one following the method selected.

You can decide to put the training lesson on hold by pressing the PAUSE button. Or stop it by pressing the STOP button. If you want to have an automatic stop after a certain amount of minutes, you can set the SESSION TIME in the settings.

While not training, you can tap on any key or word and listen to its tone to start to get used to it even outside of the training session.

You can access the SETTINGS by tapping the 'hamburger icon' on the top left.

You can look at your top 10 scores by tapping BEST SCORES in the left menu.

Important: you can use the app in both landscape and portrait mode!

Installation Verification:
1) Check to see that the plugin is listed in the "Installed Applications" of your Android device.
2) Check that the plugin is listed in Torque under "Settings" -> "Plugins" -> "Installed Plugins..."

Initial Configuration Instructions:
1) Be sure to have an active internet connect for purchase authorization.
2) Launch Torque and go to "Settings"
3) Scroll down to "Manage extra PIDs/Sensors".
4) Unless you have added any pre-defined PIDs in the past, this screen will not have any existing entries shown.
5) At this point the installed PID plugins are loaded into Torque and purchases are validated. From the menu, choose "Add predefined set".

Send alphanumeric pages from your Android powered phone! The medical industry relies heavily upon the use of pagers and now you can communicate with them using this application.

A1 Pager (Pro) syncs with your contacts, keeps a history of all the pages sent and it allows you to resend the same message to multiple contacts using the Replay button! (WARNING: Using the replay button too many times in succession can be deemed as sending an excessive number of pages by the paging network. They reserve the right to suspend pages from your phone to their network if this occurs. We recommend not sending more than 10 pages in a five minute time period to avoid being suspended.)

IMPORTANT: I recommend you try A1 Pager (Lite) to test whether A1 Pager supports your pager's network before purchasing the professional version. Both applications use the same technology so if you can receive a page from the Lite version you will be able to receive it from the Pro version.

A1 Pager cannot guarantee the delivery of pages being sent from mobile devices. It should not be used in an emergency where failure of delivery will cause potential harm or financial loss. This is particularly true with Midwest Paging. We are unable to verify a response from their network and you will always receive the message "Error: Page Not Accepted" when sending to a user on Midwest Paging's network even though it may be sent successfully.

The number of characters a network will allow ranges from 230 to 499 characters and the exact figure for your network is displayed in the application.

Numeric pages may work but be aware the message should be significantly shorter. This application is not specifically designed to transmit numeric pages.

Must be connected to the internet in order to send pages using A1 Pager!

For those that do not know the history of this particular box, the Joe's Ghost Box was created in February of 2007 by myself and the late Joe Cioppi. There was already a Frank's Box, so i thought we should call this a Joe's Box.


What I did in this experiment and what you will hear is 10 minutes of Joe's Box audio broken down into 14,000 files (7000 files forward, 7,000 reversed) of different lengths and shuffled randomly in a media player with speed adjustment. So far the results have been good and it seems to work well, but try it and decide for yourselves if you like it.

If you are considering of applying to get your US citizenship, an important part of the procedure will be the civics test, given during the interview.
