To begin, press the microphone button on the device's keyboard, speak, and text results will appear.

The app is best for in-person, face-to-face conversation, not for use with incoming phone calls.
To respond with typed text, tap "Clear All" and all previous messages on screen will disappear. Type with keyboard and the typed text will appear at the same size.

You may edit any text as you would in any other text editing software. Tap into your text results and the keyboard will appear to edit your text.

Tips:

Some hints to test the app:

Hands-Free SMS is just what it sounds like – a Hands Free SMS application that you use to listen to and respond to SMS Text messages without using your hands. Instead, Hands-Free SMS is completely voice activated. Hands-Free SMS will automatically let you know when you have an incoming SMS text message and read the incoming SMS message if configured to do so. After reading the SMS, the application will ask you if you would like to reply, repeat, ignore, or call the sender back. If you reply “Reply”, it will ask for your reply. All you need to do is speak to the app to tell it what you want your reply to be. The app will then read your reply back to you, and once you confirm the correctness of the response, it is automatically sent on its way. If you say "Call", the app will call the sender back. If you say "Repeat", the SMS message will be read again. If you say "Ignore", no further action will be taken.

Note that recent updates to Google Search cause problems with Bluetooth connectivity. Disabling the "Bluetooth headset" option under "Settings" under Google Now will address this. When this option is enabled, Google Now automatically disconnects Hands Free SMS from the Bluetooth headset so it can have exclusive rights to the headset. Note Bluetooth is only supported on Android Versions Jelly Bean and above.

On older versions of Android, certain SMS apps like Go SMS don't play nicely with other SMS apps as they intercept all incoming text messages and don't pass them on to other apps. Android addressed this in KitKat, but be aware that if you use earlier versions, and Have Go SMS installed, our app will not function.

Hands-Free SMS has the following options:
1. Request Reply: If selected, the application will ask you if you would like to reply to each incoming SMS text message. If not selected, then you will not be prompted for a reply.
2. Hands Free Mode: When selected, Hands-Free SMS will automatically turn on your screen, bring the app to the foreground, and start reading your incoming SMS (or ask you if you want it read to you if the next option is selected). When you are done interacting with Hands-Free SMS, the screen will automatically turn off. This setting provides a completely hands free experience without the necessity of keeping the screen on all the time. It is great for saving battery life! When this option is not selected, a notification will be added to the notification bar which you can click on to hear the SMS.
3. Auto Read New SMS: If selected, Hands-Free SMS will automatically read all incoming SMS text messages to you without asking if you would like it read first. When not selected, you will be told who the incoming text message is from, and asked if you want it read to you.
4. Automatic Reply: When selected, Hands-Free SMS will automatically reply to all received SMS messages (only if the app is enabled) with a message of your choosing.
5. Auto Start on SMS: When selected, if the app is not running already, it will provide a notification you can click on to have new SMS messages read aloud.

Q: My contacts do not have caller pictures. Can I nevertheless use SpeedDial?
A: Yes, you can. But having caller pictures is the whole purpose of SpeedDial. If no picture is available, the Android logo and the name of the contact will be displayed.

Q: Settings: What are the 'Shortcuts Group' sliders for?
A: Define the number of visible shortcuts. If you have a set of shortcuts and reduce the number of buttons, the shortcuts will not be deleted, only hidden. After increasing the shortcut count, the shortcuts will be visible again. If the count is set to '0', the view will be skipped if you cycle through your groups.

Q: Settings: Functionality of 'Short/Long Click Action'?
A: If you have set up your contact shortcuts, two main actions can be performed. A short or a long click. By default a short click calls the number stored in the shortcut and a long click opens the context menu to start different actions like call number, send text message, view the contact, send a WhatsApp message, show the contact's address in Google Maps, send Email and also replace, remove or move a shortcut. Short and long click actions can be overwritten with other actions. Please note, if you change the 'Long Click Action', the context menu will not be available anymore. Instead you can use 'Actions' from the main menu.

Q: What is the 'Actions' menu item?
A: Lets you quickly replace, move, rename or remove a shortcut.

Q: What does the Media scanner do?
A: Use the integrated media scanner to scan for files on your phone without unplugging the SD Card. E.g. if you cannot see new pictures in the picture gallery.

Audible Broadcast is a text messaging app that transmits messages between devices via sound using speaker and mic.

Some highlights:

Process of transmission is easily identifiable because it is heard by everybody around. This can be useful in games, quizzes and such.

There could be some kind of "information fountain" build with a device set up to send a useful for everybody text message repeatedly all day long with low sound volume somewhere in a big hall. So that everybody coming by gets attracted to the sound and puts their device near the "fountain" to receive the information. This can be programme of the day, schedule, directions, web links, etc.

The sound coming from the app can be recorded with any sound recorder to an audio file, or an audio tape, or vinyl... Then played back and converted back to text by the app.

Sound is not too disturbing and even beautiful sometimes.

The app uses frequency modulation to transmit data over the air with frequencies close to those of human voice range.

The rocket start instructions for dummies:
1. Turn down the sound volume.
2. Write something in the transmitter box.
3. Turn on the repeat mode (press REP).
4. Turn on the transmitter (press ON).
5. Adjust the sound volume so that the sound of transmission is heard comfortably.
6. Turn on the receiver (press ON, the other one, at the bottom) to start listening the air.
7. In case headphones are in use put a headphone speaker near the mic.
8. If sound is good then the message will gradually emerge in the receiver box.

Press CLS button to clear the receiver box.

Messages being sent are heard by all receiving devices around.

Environment affects quality of transmission greatly as there are many distorting factors such as resonance and echoes.

No need for Wi-Fi.

No need for cellular network.

Works in electromagnetic chaos.

* Remove app from battery consumption option in samsung.
* For huawei add the app to "Protected apps list" and on startup apps too.
* In OPPO add the app to white list depending on the model either by locking the app in recent task or from the options in OPPO's security center app also add the app to startup apps list.
* Add the app in startup apps list e.g in Xiomi and LetV
* If you have any background tasks cleaner app be sure to add the app into ignore list.
*if there is another call recorder installed on your device this may interfere with this app performance/ so please make sure to install just one call recorder on your device.
