A study carried out by Worcester Bosch Group's technical support team found that the most common cause of a boiler installation problem was from incorrectly sized gas pipes. When fitting a new boiler, often the existing pipes should be replace for larger ones due to the increased output. Smaller pipes will mean the boiler is running at a lower power and can cause an increase in carbon monoxide levels.

The Gas Pipe Sizing Calculator is an extremely easy to use app that will help you to select the right size pipes for installations using copper (up to 108mm), steel (up to 300mm) and PE (up to 315mm) pipes of sections up to 250m (820ft) in length.

To carry out a calculation simply select the gas type, enter the appliance heat input, enter the pipe length, the number of high or low loss fittings (guidance is given in the app), select the type of pipe and then press the 'Calculate' button.

The results will show the total equivalent length, the minimum pipe diameter (metric) that should be used and the pressure drop for that section of pipe.

For multiple appliances each section should be calculated in turn and the kW inputs for the appliances in each section added together for each calculation.

The maximum pressure drop from each appliance to the meter should be no more than 1 mbar for natural gas or 2.5 mbar for butane or propane. Adding all drops together using the minimum pipe diameters may cause this to be exceeded. Where possible, the results will also calculate the drop if the next larger size pipe diameter is selected on a section, this should help to ensure the right sizes are used throughout the whole circuit.

Are you a Tasker user? Do you need to know if music is currently playing for you to set up your tasks correctly? If yes on both questions, then this plug-in is written especially for you.
The plug-in itself uses no resources whatsoever when not used, no services are used. The memory footprint is minimal even when executing.

When installed, you will be able to ask the system if any application is currently playing audio through the media stream. The Media stream is used by all media players such as Google music, Spotify, Audio Book players etc.
This plug-in uses a two step process to achieve this, since Android system currently doesn't support a straight forward interrupt mechanism for discovering if music is played.
This is how you will get things done in Tasker:
Step 1, set up a State profile.
Context:
1. Is Music Playing? -> Yes
Task:
1. Set %IS_MUSIC_PLAYING = 1
Exit task:
1. Clear %IS_MUSIC_PLAYING

Since Android doesn't support interrupt based handling on playing music, you have to ask the system if music is playing before you act on your %IS_MUSIC_PLAYING variable.
Step 2, Ask the system if music is playing according to the following guide:
Context:
1. "When do you want to check if music is playing?"
Task:
1. "Your logic before the check is needed"
2. Plug-ins -> Is Music Playing? -> Query system (This will force an update of %IS_MUSIC_PLAYING via the first profile)

User feedback states that if you toggle play/pause in a task just before you want to check if music is playing, don't forget to add about a 1 second delay to ensure that the toggle is happening on the device before the check.

I've been thinking about how to get this App to work with Non Rooted Devices
since day 1!

Always figured I'd have to write some Computer App or Script to broadcast
to Non Rooted.

The command is only needed to be issued once per boot of device.

You'll need USB Debugging Enabled on your Android Device.
You'll need the binary executable ADB from the Android SDK
You'll need a USB cord to connect your Android Device to Computer

With USB Debugging turned on
Plug Android Device into Computer
Open a Terminal or Command Prompt on Computer
Navigate to location of ADB and issue this command

adb tcpip 5555

This enables ADB over WiFi on your Android Device.

That's it! Then just set RRLogcat to not use Root and start Reader! :)

It'll continue to work til Reboot of Android Device, or issuing
this command to stop ADB over WiFi

Wake Up Screen is a fun, handy and useful tool app. It allows you to wake up the screen upon shaking the tablet or phone, or by proximity (pausing hand over device - no shakes), or by orientation (flipping device upside down), and saves the power and other buttons used to turn on the device. It works great during cold weather when you have gloves on or when the buttons are defective.

To activate service, select shake profile and tap Activate button which will pin the service to the notification status bar and cause a notification sound indicating service is active. To get back to the main app, tap the wake up icon in the status bar. If activated, Wake Up Screen service will remain active even after rebooting tablet or phone. SMART APP FEATURE: If the screen wakes up and no user activity detected, the screen goes back to sleep after few seconds! You can easily change sensitivity profiles: wake up the screen as you pick up the device (High Sensitivity) or after few to many shakes (Less Sensitivity)! Q: Why can't my media player find the files I've mounted with SSHFSAndroid?
A: Android's media scanner will not scan remote filesystem mounts. Try using a file-based player that does not rely on Android's media scanner.

Q: Can I use public key authentication? I can't get it to work.
A: Public key authentication is supported ("Advanced Options" > "IdentityFile"). However, your key file must not be password-protected and your public key must be copied to your server (typically via ssh-copy-id) beforehand.

Q: How do I use option $X in "Advanced Options"?
A: Check man pages for ssh and sshfs for documentation.
