This QTH Locator Grid Square calculator tool converts Latitude and Longitude geographical coordinates into Maidenhead Grid Square. This app assumes that by default your device reports Latitude and Longitude in Decimal Degrees and Altitude in meters.

To convert among Decimal Degrees (DD), Degrees Decimal Minutes (D:DM) and Degrees Minutes Seconds (D:M:S), tap the Latitude or Longitude value field. Tap on the Altitude field to convert between Meters and Feet.

You may use the Location Sensor (if Location Services are enabled and set to GPS satellites) in your Android device to obtain your geographical location and calculate your current Grid Square, or you may enter a custom Latitude and Longitude via the numerical keypad to calculate a custom Grid Square.

To enter custom coordinates, tap and hold the Latitude and Longitude value fields and the Custom Coordinates numerical keypad will be enabled. You may enter coordinates in DD, D:DM or D:M:S format, depending on the current display.

☆ Note that this app is a widget, and once you install it you must place a widget on your screen for it to work.

☆ Appearance of each clock is separate and highly customizable so you can change the types of hands, of hour marks and numerals, colors of everything and the way the daylight is tracked. All of it can be memorized as named themes.

☆ Widgets have a seconds hand which can be enabled, however its performance may vary a lot among devices since Android does not support precisely timed execution of code, giving instead priority to power management. If seconds skip a lot, note that it is not an application problem. Since this is known in advance, by default seconds hand will be switched off if performing poorly for a few minutes. You can disable this feature if you want to. Seconds hand is off by default. But try it for yourself, it can be smooth as butter, especially for stationary systems!

☆ You have full freedom to customize clock settings as you see fit. This includes also setting combinations that are poorly visible against each other or against the background, or just downright ugly. App will not prevent you from making poor color choices, because - hey, fashion changes quickly and freedom is always the right thing for an intelligent user! When applying for employment within the lifting industry, most employers will now require you to carry out an online competency question assessment test. These test can last between 10 to 30 minutes to complete, and will involve a number of questions that will vary from pictorial questions on general types of lifting equipment, through to safe use and safe operations, also included will be questions based on current lifting regulations.

Slinger level, questions are based on common sense, safe working loads, types of lifting appliances safe slinging practices and basic understanding of lifting regulations.

Rigger level, include calculation of loads, D/d ratio, hitch capacities, relationships between MBL, WLL, SWL identification of ropes, attachments and safe use.

Advanced/Inspection level, questions are focus on testing and regulations, tensile strengths vectors forces, moment, shear, and axial forces, compression tension, hardness testing, grading of lifting equipment, fit for purpose and so on.

Each level of questions comes with easy explanations equation workings and simple to follow problem solving.
Currently there is no such thing as a harmonized international standard for lifting regulations.
All questions and answers are based on current recommendation set out by the manufactures of lifting equipment; their standards are closest thing to an international harmonized standard, and cover most lifting and inspection standards for oil, gas and nuclear industry.

Each qualified rigger may have different credentials or experience. A qualified rigger is a person that: possesses a recognized degree, certificate, or professional standing, or has extensive knowledge, training, and experience, and can successfully demonstrate the ability to solve problems related to rigging loads.
